Every person goes through a roller coaster of emotions after breaking up with their partner. A broken heart and hopeless future is common and unavoidable at such a crucial, intense and emotional phase. However, during such distressful and shattering times, self control, determination and emotional stability are the vital tools that need to be utilized, along with help and support from the Almighty which can be asked for through a prayer for broken heart.
By calling upon Him and asking for His help our heart will surely find comfort and condolence. It will get the strength it needs to enable us to move on and act logically. In this article I will share some soothing and peaceful prayers to mend your broken heart and give you the courage to move on with your life.
A popular prayer for a broken heart is as follows:
“God, you care deeply for broken-hearted people. This is a promise you make: You are close. We pray for all those who are crippled by broken relationships. Our hearts take the blow of disappointment. We feel crushed because our hopes are dashed. God, heal broken hearts. We cannot fix our own wounds. But you can. If pieces of our heart have been lost, or are held captive by another, recover them and bring them back to us and miraculously “put us back together” so that our heart is whole again. You are a mender of broken hearts. We ask for this miracle, in the name of Jesus.”
This prayer firstly addresses to God, the Almighty and All-Powerful, and that only He can mend broken and shattered hearts. He promises to His creations to take care of them and comfort them during times of distress and agony, especially those who recently broke up with the love of their life and their valued relationships. After a break up, the world seems different and sadder to everybody, there seems to be no hope left and everyday looks like an eternity. But only He knows what the future holds and can heal our faithless and hopeless hearts with His unmatched and unconditional love and support.
We submit ourselves and our hearts to Him as only He can mend them, while we humans lay powerless and restless. This prayer calls upon Him and urges Him to recover the broken pieces of our heart which have been lost, misplaced or being held captive by our ex; and to put all of them back together and reform our heart, ‘make it whole again.’ We call upon God to mend our broken heart and nobody else because only He holds the ultimate and superior power to repair and rejoice a broken heart, which is only next to a miracle. Another beautiful biblical reference to lift a broken heart:
“Though I am sad, I can rejoice in the promises of the glory of God because if God closes a door, he opens a bigger one. If something bad has happened, God will restore me two times what I have lost. If I have to wait, God will give something better. Thank-you that you are the God who is close to the brokenhearted and you save those who are crushed in spirit. Though I cannot see it now, one day I will be so happy that I will not even remember the hurt. I will be able to forget the pain of my trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by.”
In this prayer we call upon God based upon His promise of opening up alternative doors and alternative ways when one door is closed or one way is blocked. He will never take away anything from you, even if He does, He will provide you with twice more than taken away. There is no one more merciful and powerful than Him and only He can give us what we deserve in its true sense and meaning. He surely rewards patience and perseverance. No doubt we cannot see what future holds for us, but He knows everything and also that we will surely recover from the pain we currently are facing and emerge successfully through these tough times by preserving our faith in Him and His prayer for broken heart.
