If you have been cheated on by your lover, you are probably boiling over with anger, jealousy and grief. More importantly, you are either getting ready to break up or you are coming out of one. In either case, you could probably use some wise words of encouragement or advice.
- “Someone wise once told me, when the pain of holding on is worse than the pain of letting go, it is time to let go”. If your lover has put a dagger through your heart by lying and cheating on you, the pain of staying with them is obviously too much. The best choice to make is leaving them; don’t give them the opportunity to try to charm their way into a second chance with you.
- “If your heart was really broken, you’d be dead. So shut up”. The anger and indifference to your cheating partner’s feelings is captured nicely here. If he or she has betrayed you by sleeping with playing the field, then they are more than capable liars and scammers. They will use those skills to try to get more out of you; don’t let them. Slam the door in their face.
- “It takes a lot to hate you, it takes too much to forget you, but it took so little to love you.” It is an undeniable fact, that you still love your ex. You hurt and you hate so much because of that love. So it is absolutely okay and natural that while you are angry with your ex, you should also miss him/her and grieve over the loss of them.
- “If you can’t save the relationship, at least save your pride.” You may not walk away from the shattered relationship with much, but you come away with your dignity intact. Tell your ex exactly how much of a lowlife he/she really is and make sure they know that what they lost with you is forever beyond their reach now. No matter how much they may beg and plead, or how much you may want them back, stand up straight and ignore those pleas.
- “Don’t lose yourself in attempt to hold on to someone who doesn’t care about losing you.” Your heart may be telling you to continue on in spite of your partner’s bad behavior. You may want to believe that he/she can change. But you need to face the reality that they care much less about you than you do for them. So stand up for yourself and deny that cheater any more access to your heart.
- “It still hurts that you’re doing completely okay, without me.” We desperately want our rejection of someone who deserves to be punished to bring them to their knees. Unfortunately, the world just doesn’t always work that way. A guy or girl who breaks your heart often continues on cheating and breaking other hearts.
- “The chances of me finding another you are great but for you finding another me……it just won’t happen.” This quote should encourage anyone who has been treated badly by their lover. If you can emulate the sentiment here, you know that you will turn out okay. Take some well deserved pride in the fact that you are the better person, and that finding someone else like your ex won’t be hard.
- “I’m sorry I mistook all our laughs, long nights, sweet texts and inside jokes as you caring. I’ll think twice before wasting my time again.” You may have had your heart broken, but you can walk away knowing that you learned a lesson. The next time you fall in love you will be a little wiser.
- “That devastating moment when he tells you about the girl he likes…that’s not you.” This is a heartbreaking quote, so if you weep a little at reading it, it is okay. It is absolutely true that the instant your lover tells you he/she likes someone else, it feels like the world just died.
- “Even if we can’t be together in the end I’m still grateful you were part of my life at one point.” Honesty with ourselves is important. It is often the case, that despite how mistreated you were by your lover, you probably still feel a little gratitude for the happy moments the two of you shared.
